DR PHIL CLAYTON (M)

MA (Oxon) MB BS (Lond) MRCPCH FRCGP

Dr Phil Clayton has been a GP at Meadowcroft since 2003, then Berrycroft. Prior to that he worked in children's medicine in London, then in Children's A&E and paediatric allergy in Oxford. He did some work as a vaccine clinical research fellow during Covid. He oversees GP care at Lewin House Nursing Home and works as paediatric facilitator at the University of Buckingham. He is also a director at Berrycroft. His special interests are children's medicine, allergy and elderly care. Working days: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday Friday.

DR TISHA PATEL (F)

Dr Tisha Patel is a GP Director, GP Educator and works as a Career and Performance Coach on her other days. Her special interests are Leadership, Men’s Health, Wellbeing through Change and Health Coaching. Working Days: Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday mornings.

Dr Emma Montague qualified in 2000 from Imperial College London, where she also completed a degree in Pharmacology. Emma is a GP Director and a trainer of future GPs. Her special interests are in Paediatric care. Working days: Monday, Wednesday & Thursday.

DR JAYSAL PATEL (M)

Dr Jaysal Patel graduated from Guy's King's and St. Thomas' Medical School in 2007, then qualified as a GP from St. Thomas' Hospital in 2012. He also has a degree in Pharmacology. He is a GP Director, the lead for medical student education and medicines management. His main area of interest is cardiovascular health. Working Days: Monday to Friday.

DR TOBY GILLMAN (M)

Dr Toby Gillman graduated from Guy’s King’s and St Thomas’s Medical School in 2003, he entered GP training in 2008 and joined Meadowcroft Surgery in 2009. He has been involved for some years in the organisation of local healthcare and has had leadership roles in the Clinical Commissioning Group, Primary Care Network, and Integrated Care Board. He is currently the GP lead for Prevention, Public Health and Health Inequalities for Bucks and is the Practice Data Protection Officer. Working days: Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

DR RICHARD WOOD (M)

Dr Richard Wood graduated from Cambridge University in Medicine in 2009. He also has a degree in Psychology and a degree in Cognitive Neuroscience. He has a postgraduate certificate in clinical education and is a GP trainer. He has a diploma in Sexual and Reproductive Health. He is also a Headache Specialist working at the Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and is Education Fellow for the National Migraine Centre. He has medical politics roles and lobbies for the interests of General Practice at a local and national level. Working Days: Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday.

DR CAROLINE MORLEY (F)

Dr Caroline Morley graduated from Guys and St Thomas' School of Medicine in 2009. She spent several years in hospital medicine and Clinical Oncology before commencing GP training in Buckinghamshire in 2016. She has a special interest in palliative care and oncology. Working days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

DR JULIAN BIRCH (M)

Dr Julian Birch graduated from Brighton & Sussex Medical school in 2013, where he also completed a degree in Experimental Psychology. After working in London, he completed his GP training in Oxford, and then worked in GP surgeries and the Out of Hours service, before starting at Berryfields in 2020. He has an interest in Dermatology, looks after a nursing home, and is the practice lead for cancer and end of life care. Working days: Tuesday, Thursday, Friday.

DR SUZANNE CLAYTON (F)

Dr Suzanne Clayton graduated from Royal Free Hospital School of Medicine, London in 1997. She completed her GP training at Meadowcroft Surgery in 2001 and has continued to work with Meadowcroft and Berrycroft since then. She has an interest in medical education and coaching, which links well to her additional roles as GP Trainer, GP appraiser and volunteering as a mentor for other doctors through the Royal College of General Practitioners. Dr Clayton is also the mental health lead for the local Primary Care Network. She is keen to promote health and wellbeing through keeping active and is the practice link for Aylesbury Park Run. Working Days: Monday afternoons, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday mornings.

Dr Kathy Hoffmann graduated from the Royal Free Hospital School of Medicine in 1986. Kathy's clinical interests are in: Chronic Diseases, Obesity, Disease Prevention, Medical Management, Service redesign and Lifestyle Medicine. Working days: Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday afternoons

Dr Cyriac Athappilly graduated in 2012 from Barts and the Royal London. His Interests include mental health and lifestyle medicine. He also works as a Headache specialist for the National Migraine centre. Working Days: Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

Dr Yasmeen Mulla qualified from the University of Birmingham in 2015. Having been a GP registrar at Berryfields, she joined Berrycroft in 2024. She has authored Chapter 4: Preparing for Preclinical Exams of the Oxford Handbook for Medical School. Her clinical interests include: Neurology, Obesity and Ophthalmology. Working Days: Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday.

DR CHERYL CONELY (F)

Dr Cheryl Conely completed her training as a doctor in 2003, and worked as a GP in London before working in Oxfordshire for several years. She enjoys all aspects of General Practice. She has worked with the elderly and in care homes and has an interest in Palliative Care. She teaches at Oxford Medical School and as part of the Personality Disorder Positive Outcome team. She works Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

Dr Jude Joseph-Gubral graduated from Cardiff University in 2019. After completing his GP training in 2024, he joined Berrycroft in October 2024. Jude is particularly interested in medical education, diabetes and mental health. His working days are Monday, Tuesday and Thursday

Dr Hannah Wilson graduated from UCL medical school in 2017. Hannah is particularly interested in health promotion and prior to GP training, worked as a Public Health registrar in the West Midlands. Dr Francesca Mitchell graduated from UCL Medical School in 2013. Francesca is particularly interested in paediatrics and child health and spent time working in paediatrics prior to commencing GP training. Francesca's working days are Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday.

Jessica Cartwright graduated with a masters in pharmacy (MPharm) from the University of Bath in 2014. After gaining experience in hospital pharmacy, she transitioned to general practice and joined the surgery as a Clinical Pharmacist in 2020. In her role, Jessica leads medication and long-term condition reviews, aiming to optimise patient care. She completed a postgraduate clinical diploma in clinical pharmacy at De Montfort University between 2020 and 2023 and became an independent prescriber through the University of Reading in 2022, specialising in hypertension. With a particular interest in cardiovascular health, Jessica is dedicated to providing tailored medication management to improve patient outcomes. Working Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday.

Paul Banham graduated from Oxford Brookes University in 2012. He is a Paramedic Practitioner with considerable experience. His specialist interest is primary care, acute medicine, and practice education. He also serves as an associate lecturer on the Paramedic Emergency Care program at Oxford Brookes University actively participating in the education of future Paramedics. Working Days: Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

James Morgan is a Physician Associate who qualified from St. George’s University of London in 2014. His specialist interest is Learning Disabilities and Dermatology. Working days: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

Daniel Glazer graduated from Medical University of Warsaw. He is a paramedic prescriber at Berrycroft. His specialist interest is acute care. Working days: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday.

GPAs are part of our multi-disciplinary team. They provide a support role for GPs, carry out administration tasks combined with basic clinical duties to improve the patient experience.

Nurses

Practice nurses are qualified and registered nurses. They can help with health issues such as family planning, healthy living advice, blood pressure checks and dressings. The practice nurses run clinics for long-term health conditions such as asthma or diabetes, minor ailment clinics and carry out cervical smears.

Andrea Niell graduated from Norfolk College of Nursing and Midwifery, Bucks new University & University of Warwick. Her qualifications are in Community Health Care Nursing, Specialist Practitioner District Nursing, Community Practitioner Nurse Prescriber, Certificate in Diabetes care & Registered Nurse. Her specialist interest is Diabetes, Wound Care. Working Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Fridays.

Emilie Maynard due to start her Batchelors Nursing degree in July 2024. She joined Berryfields surgery in 2014 as a Health Care Assistant and have over the years progressed her carer within nursing. Working days: Monday to Thursday.

Sue qualified in 1992 as a registered nurse form the Ipswich School of Nursing and Midwifery. Following 13 years of working within critical care, she made the transition into General Practice. Sue enjoys all aspects of practice nursing but has specialist qualifications for the care of patients with Asthma, COPD and Diabetes. Working days: Wednesday to Friday.

Faith Khumalo graduated from University of West London in 2013. She previously worked as a general nurse in a surgical unit, before working in general practice. Her specialist interest is Child and Travel Immunisations and Cervical smears. Working days: Monday- Wednesday.

CHERELLE MACKENZIE

Practice Nurse

Cherelle Mackenzie graduated from Bedfordshire University in 2014. She was a specialist Neonatal Intensive Care Deputy Sister, prior to transitioning to General Practice Nursing in 2021. Cherelle completes immunisations, cervical smears, wound care etc and has recently completed further training to specialise in Asthma and COPD. Working days: Wednesday - Friday.

JINNEFER GIBBONS

Practice Nurse

Jinnefer Gibbons has a BS in Nursing, BSc International Nursing (Hertfordshire) and a ONP (Northampton). She has worked in various clinical and management roles and areas in nursing including hospital and nursing home setting, anaesthetic & recovery, district nursing, and primary care and is an independent and supplementary prescriber. Her specialists interests are chronic disease (Asthma, COPD, Diabetes) and wound care management. Working Days: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

Practice Nurse

Anne Kimber graduated as RGN St. Mary's Paddington in 1984. She went on to train in intensive care and worked in the cardiothoracic and transplant ITU at Harefield Hospital for 10 years, before moving into GP practice and focusing on long term conditions. She has a specialist interest in diabetes and respiratory conditions. She performs and interprets spirometry and has ARTP certification. Working days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday.

Sarah Bonham is a Registered Nurse since 2001. She has a specialists interest in Asthma and Contraception - Fitting coils and implants which are conducted on Tuesdays and Fridays mornings. Working days: Monday to Friday.

Healthcare Assistants

Healthcare assistants support practice nurses with their daily work and carry out tasks such as phlebotomy (drawing blood), blood pressure measurement and new patient checks. They may act as a chaperone when a patient or doctor requests one.

Patient Services Team

Our receptionists are members of our Patient Services Team and are the first people you will speak to on the phone and in person. They co-ordinate and organise clinical staff appointments and documentation to facilitate the smooth running of the Practice. PST are trained under our doctors’ instruction to ask you the right questions to ensure they connect you with the right clinician, healthcare professional or member of our administration team. They also perform other important tasks such as issuing repeat prescriptions, dealing with prescription enquiries and patient records. Any information you give to our team remains confidential. If you require privacy at our reception desk, please ask the receptionist who will deal with your request in a private area.

Workflow Team

Our Workflow team are trained in the process of workflow optimisation, a process designed to support our clinicians by effectively and safely reading, coding, actioning, and completing the processing of clinical correspondence.
