Job summary

An exciting opportunity is available to join our thriving, friendly, high achieving practice team. Berrycroft Practice is now working from our brand-new, purpose-built Health Centre in Berryfields, Aylesbury. We are looking for a prescription clerk to join our existing team.

As a prescription clerk you will ensure medication requests are completed accurately and efficiently following protocol.

Job responsibilities

There may be, on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent on factors such as workload and staffing levels.

  • Accurate and timely processing of both electronic and paper prescription requests following the correct protocols
  • To liaise with patients and pharmacies regarding queries and requests
  • To ensure that patients queries on medication are highlighted to the relevant GP
  • Ensure up to date patient information is recorded
  • Informing patients when a medication review is required and booking in for pre-annual review checks, or interim monitoring checks and medication review appointments
  • There will be opportunity to participate in medication-related audits and searches to improve our prescribing safety
  • To always adhere to patient confidentiality

 

Person Specification (Essential)

  • Experience of a front facing customer role
  • Background in administration.
  • Excellent communication skills (written, oral and presenting).
  • Confident with multiple forms of technology.
  • Competent IT skills.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain high confidentiality at all times.
  • Ability to work autonomously.
  • Ability to receive and provide complex information which may be sensitive.
  • Able to understand basic health needs of patients in their care.
  • Adaptable to changing priorities and targets.
